Indo Wood Expo 2026
The Premier Forestry & Woodworking Trade Show in East Java
Following a highly successful debut, Indowood Expo 2026 proudly returns for its 2nd edition in Surabaya—bringing the woodworking and furniture technology industry to the heart of East Java, one of Indonesia’s most dynamic and fastestgrowing industrial hubs.
Indonesia stands as one of the leading exporters of forestry products in Southeast Asia. In 2024, the nation recorded US$11.9 billion in forestry exports, with furniture and crafts contributing approximately US$2.6 billion. In Q1 2025, furniture and handicraft exports grew by 2.18% yearon-
year, reaching USD 698.64 million—highlighting the sector’s steady momentum as a key contributor to Indonesia’s GDP.
Yet, most leading woodworking and furniture trade shows remain concentrated in West Java, particularly Jakarta-overlooking the enormous
potential of Surabaya, Indonesia’s second-largest city and a rising industrial powerhouse.
Why East Java?
- Manufacturing Hub: East Java is home to Indonesia’s second highest concentration of furniture factories. Surabaya’s strategic location—close to raw material sources and well-connected to regions like Central Java—makes it an ideal venue for woodworking trade shows.
- Rapid Industrial Expansion: Lower wages and competitive land prices compared to West Java are driving manufacturers eastward, creating new demand for advanced machinery, automation, and efficient production solutions.
- Government Incentives: Tax breaks, subsidies, and investments of IDR3.33 billion are transforming the region’s woodworking industry.
